Account & Data Deletion – Sharks
This page explains how users of the Sharks app can request deletion of their account and associated data.
How to request deletion
- In the app: open Settings → Manage account → Delete account and follow the prompts.
- If you cannot access your account, email us at hazemsdnone@gmail.com from your registered email with the subject “Account deletion request”.
What we delete
- Profile data: name, email, phone, profile photo, user ID.
- Addresses and location stored in-app (including saved coordinates and address text).
- Orders history, cart contents, favorites, reservations, preferences.
- Authentication/session tokens, notification tokens (e.g., FCM).
- Any other personal data stored in our systems that can identify you.
What may be retained (and why)
- Payment and transaction records (via Stripe) to comply with tax, accounting, fraud prevention, chargeback, and legal obligations.
- Minimal server logs for security, abuse prevention, and legal compliance.
Retention durations depend on legal requirements in your jurisdiction (e.g., up to 7 years for financial records). After legal retention expires, data is permanently deleted or anonymized.
Third‑party services
- Firebase (Messaging/Notifications): we delete your notification tokens and stop sending notifications upon account deletion.
- Stripe (Payments): we cease processing and detach your customer profile where possible while retaining mandatory records for compliance.
- Google Maps Platform: map requests are handled by Google; we do not store your map usage beyond what is listed above.
Timeline & verification
- We verify your identity within 3 business days (in‑app request is already verified).
- We complete deletion within 30 days unless law requires longer retention as noted above.
